Doctors and dentist offices are the new targets. OSHA has stepped up their unannounced inspections across the state and are targeting doctors and dentist offices. OSHA has recently instituted an Emphasis Program that created a list of over 100 medical and dental offices in Nevada identified for inspection. As inspections occur, new names are added to the list. OSHA inspections are up 400% since January 2010. Additionally, OSHA instituted a Severe Enforcement Program that has resulted in more stringent enforcement, an increased number of citations, and higher classification of penalties resulting in higher overall minimum fines. As of January 13, 2017 the following fines went into effect:

  • Serious, Other Than Serious, Posting Requirements: $12,675 per violation.
  • Failure to Abate: $12,675 per day beyond the abatement date.
  • Willful or Repeated: $126,749 per violation.

Nevada OSHA regulations are different from Federal OSHA regulations. Learn what you need to do to stay in compliance or get in compliance to avoid costly penalties.
