Panelists will walk the audience through the revenue cycle and identify areas of risk in workflow and documentation that may have a negative effect on patient engagement, managing AR and cash flow. Real-life examples will be given, along with guidance and take-aways about how your medical practice or organization can ensure proper and consistent documentation and workflow in order to better manage the entire revenue cycle and avoid compliance issues.

Presenters:

Diane Premeau, MBA, RHIA, RHIT, CHP, CHC
Diane Premeau is Director of Health Information Management Services at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, and previously Director of HIM and Privacy officer with Daughters of Charity Health System, O’Connor Hospital, San Jose, CA, where her responsibilities included revenue cycle, privacy/compliance and migration to an electronic health environment. Her areas of expertise include systems analysis, development of health information systems, database management and development of coursework for health informatics. Diane has worked in a variety of healthcare industries, including acute, long-term, and mental health, and as a consultant to prisons, jails, rehabilitation hospitals, multi-campus systems, and as a federal court-appointed medical record expert.

Diane received an MBA and certification in Health Information Administration from Stephens College, Columbia MO. She is past president of the California Health Information Association and has been active over the past 20+ years in AHIMA, Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA), Association of Clinical Documentation Specialists (ACDIS), Health Information Management System Society (HIMSS) and American Records Management Association (ARMA).

Rebecca Bailey, MBA, CCS, CPC, CHTS-TR
Rebecca Bailey is an Outpatient Consultant with 3M Health Information Systems Consulting Services, providing services to health systems and clinics throughout the United States. She has worked in the healthcare industry providing revenue cycle management solutions for over 25 years to physician practices, hospitals and public clinics. Rebecca has a passion for analyzing workflow, streamlining processes, and encouraging people to share knowledge with their colleagues to achieve the BEST possible outcomes. She is currently the President of the Nevada Chapter of the American Health Information Management Association (NvHIMA).

Rebecca received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno and her M.B.A. in Healthcare Management. She is a Certified Healthcare Technology Specialist - Trainer (CHTS-TR), which demonstrates proficiency to design and deliver training programs for the implementation and management of electronic health information.

Terri Mahannah
Terri Mahannah has been the Executive Director of Reno Diagnostic Centers (RDC) since 2002, overseeing all operational and financial activities for RDC’s comprehensive imaging centers. Terri’s leadership abilities have helped RDC become a leading provider of imaging services in Northern Nevada. Her responsibilities at RDC include developing and overseeing all technical operations, including scheduling, business office and front-desk operations. Terri has reviewed and improved workflow, customer service and employee incentive programs, resulting in improvements to RDC’s productivity, AR management and cash flow.

Terri holds a Bachelor of Science in Business-Logistics from the University of Nevada, Reno, and has served as President of the Nevada Medical Group Management Association.
