Biography
Human resources expert, Melissa Marsh, is founder of HRinDemand LLC, providing human resources consulting and outsourced human resources department services for entrepreneurs and small business owners, including customized employee handbooks, job descriptions, HR policies/procedures, recruiting, hiring, training, surveys, cost savings benefits analysis and employee performance management. Melissa also conducts internal investigations of harassment, discrimination and other employment-related complaints.
In the late 1990s, she began her career in the casino industry, working in human resources for MGM Grand, Las Vegas. Following her work at MGM Grand, Melissa was employed in a variety of industries, including start-up consulting firms, Fortune 500 companies, food and beverage companies, and publishing companies. She held positions with First American Appraisal Services, Webvan, N9NE Group, and Greenspun Media Group.
Melissa is a member of the Northern Nevada chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and has served on organizational committees for the 2012 Nevada State SHRM Conference and the 2013 Nevada State Legislative Conference. She is currently a member of the Northern Nevada Human Resources Association board of directors serving as chair of the Workforce Readiness Committee. She has served as a Chamber of Commerce ambassador and as a member of the NCET board of directors.
As a native Nevadan, a graduate of the University of Nevada-Reno, the recipient of a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, an HRCI-certified Senior HR Professional, and SHRM Senior Certified Professional, Melissa understands the people, the business environment and the laws that govern Nevada employers.
