This month we will be discussing Northern Nevada Medical Center’s under construction freestanding emergency department. Tiffany and Shelby will discuss why this is a value to the community, how to utilize as a patient and referring providing, and what the scope of services is for the FED.

Tiffany Coury

Tiffany Coury graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management from the University of Central Florida in Orlando and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of South Florida in Tampa. She joined Universal Health Services in 2005 and was transferred from Florida to Nevada in 2010 to take a leadership role at Northern Nevada Medical Center. Tiffany serves as Northern Nevada’s chief operating officer and is responsible for the organization’s daily operations, as well as strategic growth planning.

Shelby Hunt

Director, Emergency Services

Northern Nevada Medical Center

Shelby Hunt has more than 25 years of emergency department nursing experience, and currently serves as director of emergency services for Northern Nevada Medical Center. She oversees all operations and strategic planning for the ER and serves as stroke coordinator for the hospital. In addition, Shelby will lead the organization’s newest facility – the ER at McCarran NW which is the area’s first freestanding emergency room. She obtained her bachelor’s in Nursing from Walla Walla College School of Nursing in Washington and a Master of Science, Health Administration from the University of Saint Francis, Joliet, Illinois.
