Ayesha Mehdi is a partner at Spencer Fane, LLP's Las Vegas office, and focuses her practice on representation of healthcare practitioners and entities, in corporate, transactional, and healthcare matters. She advises clients regarding fraud and abuse; Health Information Technology (HIT) and compliance, including the Stark II physician self-referral law; the Medicare/Medicaid anti-kickback law, corporate practice and fee-splitting restrictions; health information privacy and security (HIPAA and HITECH Act); and healthcare reimbursement.
Ayesha obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Law. She obtained her Master of Health Services Administration from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, and her Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance), magna cum laude, from Walsh College of Accountancy and Business Administration in Troy, Michigan.
Prior to the practice of law, Ayesha taught health law at the University of Nevada Las Vegas Department of Healthcare Administration and Policy and held a management position at an oncology clinic in Las Vegas, Nevada.
