About Derrick Glum:
Derrick Glum, MBA, FACHE is the Chief Executive Officer of Prime Healthcare-member Saint Mary’s Health Network in Reno, Nevada. In his position, Mr. Glum oversees the operations of Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center, a 380-bed acute care hospital offering a robust line of inpatient, outpatient and ancillary services including a top-rated Center for Cancer, surgical and orthopedic services, and an award-winning Cardiology program. Additionally Mr. Glum is responsible for a fully-integrated Medical Group, multiple urgent care clinics, freestanding imaging, lab, and primary care offices. With nearly 20 years of healthcare experience, Mr. Glum has previously served as the Regional Chief Operating Officer/Hospital Administrator for two hospitals in the greater Phoenix area – Mountain View Medical Center and Florence Hospital. During his time in Arizona, Derrick successfully implemented strategic and logistical tactics aimed at improving operational efficiency, and saw dramatic improvements related to hospital performance and patient satisfaction. Prior to that, Mr. Glum functioned as a System Vice President for Renown Health and was the CEO of Tahoe Pacific Hospital, also in Reno, Nevada.
Most recently, Mr. Glum was recognized by Becker’s Healthcare as one of the Top CEOs to Know in the United States, an honor he received after effectively leading Saint Mary’s to a number of key successes. These include Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center being named the #3 Cardiovascular Hospital in the United States, and the implementation of a virtual emergency care tool titled GetCareNow.
Mr. Glum completed his undergraduate degree from Weber State University in 2003, and finished his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2011 from Western Governors University. Mr. Glum is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Mr. Glum is happy to call Northern Nevada home for a second time, and was drawn to the caring nature and community-driven culture of Saint Mary’s.
