Practice Manager

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a full-time Practice Manager to oversee the daily administrative processes and staff within our orthopedic practice in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Practice Manager will work closely with our Administrative and Medical Executive teams to ensure high-quality service and safety for our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a culture that emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and performance with a shared vision for the future
  • Direct and implement the practice's mission and strategic plan to achieve its strategic and financial goals
  • Assist with business planning, improvement, and expansion projects
  • Monitor the practice's budget and prepare accurate financial reports
  • Provide oversight and management for team clinical supervisors, billing managers, administrative staff, and finance team
  • Maintain all accounting functions, including accounts payable, general ledger, accounts receivable, employee payroll, cash disbursements, and financial statements

  • Provide visible and approachable leadership enhancing working relationships among the staff and physicians
  • Continually monitor operations, programs, and physical properties initiating appropriate changes
  • Identify opportunities to enhance market share and financial position through the development of partnerships, affiliations, and growth strategies
  • Mentor staff and provide opportunities for professional growth and development
  • Represent the medical practice in its relationships with other health organizations, government agencies, and third-party payers
  • Serve as liaison and channel of communication between the board and its committees, the medical and administrative staff

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance/Accounting, or other related field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Medical practice management certification such as CMPE preferred
  • Five years of supervisory experience, with increasing responsibilities and multiple direct reports
  • Two years of financial management experience, including an understanding of healthcare industry accounting
  • Ability to effectively manage others and to establish/maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and the public
  • Knowledge and a thorough understanding of the healthcare environment
  • Specific knowledge of finance, marketing, operations, human resource management, and public relations in healthcare
  • Ability to analyze financial data, prepare financial statements and related reports
  • Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and discretion to achieve organizational objectives
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving skills, and communication skills

Behavioral Health Care Provider (BCP), organizes and implements the prescribed Behavioral Health Integrated Model of Care and clinical Psychotherapy for NVHC patients and their families; serves as a therapist and resource person for NVHC patients in accordance with the medical and behavioral plan of treatment; abides by the National Association of Social Work Code of Ethics for social work in a healthcare setting. Work Location/Hours/Travel: Nevada- Las Vegas, Carson City, Elko; Full-time with varied work hours - primarily Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Travel may be required less than 20% of the time.

  • Collaborates and consults with NVHC Primary Care Providers (PCP) and staff about the behavioral health and psychosocial needs of patients and the impact of these needs on the patient’s health care and compliance with treatment.
  • Refers patients and their families to appropriate community agencies or organizations; coordinates services with such agencies or organizations, and advocates for patients and/or their families.
  • Makes clinical decisions on managing crisis walk-ins and calls
  • Collaborates with the Case Manager who provides ongoing case management, which may include consultation with NVHC multidisciplinary team members and community-based service providers about the patient’s treatment and discharge planning and aftercare needs.
  • Prepares complete, concise, timely written materials, reports, and clinical documentation.
  • Participates in internal quality assurance and works with multidisciplinary team members proactively to drive quality improvement initiatives in accordance with the mission and strategic goals of the organization, federal and state laws and regulations, and accreditation standards, when assigned.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Meets multiple and often competing deadlines.
  • Participates in defined and established agency and community meetings.
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA & other regulatory agencies
  • Demonstrates cooperative behavior with supervisors, colleagues, patients and their families, and the community.

Required Qualifications:

Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), Masters of Social Work (MSW), LCSW or Clinical Psychology (PsyD/PhD) degree from an accredited institution.

Current, unrestricted clinical license to practice clinical behavioral health work in the State of Nevada

Preferred: a minimum of two (2) years within the past five (5) years in the practice in a mental health setting working with adults, adolescents, children, and families
